When we give to divinely inspired initiatives, we are partnering with heaven to bring God's vision to life on earth. Giving is both an act of love and worship. God demonstrated his love for us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins on the cross (John 3:16). The first mention of "worship" in the Bible was when Abraham, in faith, gave his son to God as an offering (Genesis 22:5). To give is to love; to give an offering to God's work is to worship God.

  TITHE AND OFFERING

The Bible tells us what to give when it comes to tithe, and how to give when it comes to offering. To tithe means to give a tenth of your income to God. However, anything you give above 10% is not a tithe but an offering. We are not expected to give a specific amount when we tithe but a flat tenth percentage of our income. That way, everyone gives according to their means.
